About Me

Cheryl Brickey

Just a little about me: By day I work as an engineer and patent agent for a private textile and chemical company.  I enjoy seeing all of the new inventions being developed and I like that even if I am not sewing quilts during the day, I am still working with and learning about textiles.

I have always been crafty trying my hand at cake decorating, cooking, crocheting but always had a love for quilts (though there were no quilters in my family).  I decided to make my daughter a quilt for her "big girl" toddler bed so I went to Joann's and bought a cutting mat, rotary cutting, and ruler and armed with my mother's old 1980'a slant shank Singer and hours of visiting blogs and watching YouTube videos, I made my first quilt.  I have been hooked ever since.

I love the online quilting community!  I have truly found a home online and I am very fortunate to be able to call some wonderful quilters friends.  I like having a two way conversation so I encourage comments and try to respond to each one (as well as visit the commentor's blog).

If you want to take a look around my blog, you will find my latest finishestutorialspatterns, and popular yearly mystery quilt in the tabs at the top of the blog and on the sidebar.
